Eligibility and Conditions

To be considered for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must have applied and received an offer to study a full-time, award-bearing programme at the University of Hertfordshire for the first time.
  • You must be classified as an international student for fee purposes.
  • Your course must be a taught undergraduate or postgraduate programme starting in the September 2025 intake.
  • You must be joining the University for the first time, not a University of Hertfordshire or HIC graduate.
  • You must be paying the full cost of tuition fees from your own resources, without sponsorship from an employer or government body. Contributions from family are permitted.
  • You must meet all conditions of your registration before the scholarship can be awarded.

This scholarship is not available for the following courses and programmes:

  • School of Health and Social Work Courses:

    • BSc Therapeutic Radiography
    • BSc/MSc Nursing (all routes)
    • BSc Midwifery
    • BSc/MSc Paramedic Science
    • BSc/MSc Physiotherapy
    • BSc/MSc Social Work
  • Non-standard Law Courses:
    • PgDip Bar Practice
    • LLM Bar Practice
    • LLM Legal Practice
    • LLM Solicitors Practice
  • Public Health Courses:
    • Master of Public Health (all routes)
  • Specific Undergraduate Creative Arts Courses:
    • BA (Hons) 2D Digital Animation
    • BA (Hons) 3D Animation and Visual Effects
    • BA (Hons) 3D Games Art and Design
    • BA (Hons) Comics and Concept Art
  • Other Programme Types:
    • OSPAP, Pre-sessional English, Research, HIC, or fully online courses.

Important Notes

  • This scholarship is only available upon entry in your first year and is not renewable for subsequent years.
  • The award is for the September 2025 intake only and cannot be transferred to later intakes unless specifically agreed by the University.
  • The scholarship will be offset against your tuition fee debt after you register. It is not deducted from your deposit payment.
  • If you have paid your tuition fees in full, the scholarship funds can be used for University accommodation (excluding the accommodation deposit).
  • You cannot receive this scholarship in conjunction with most other University awards, including the Early Bird Discount, 20% Herts Graduate Discount, or Vice Chancellor's Regional Scholarship.
  • You can qualify for the Full Payment Discount alongside the Chancellor's International Scholarship.
  • If a student withdraws from their course, the scholarship will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis.
