4-Term Extended International Year One - Mechanical Engineering

Program Description

This one-year (3 term) programme offers successful students guaranteed progression* to Year 2 of the following degrees at Aston University: 

• BSc (Hons) Business and Management
• BSc (Hons) International Business and Management
• BA (Hons) Marketing
• BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance
• BA (Hons) Human Resources and Business Management 
• LLB Law
• ​BSc (Hons) Mechanical Engineering
• BSc (Hons) Computer Science
• BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering
• BSc (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The International Year One programme offers guaranteed progression* to Year 2 of a range of degrees.

This programme is designed for international students who do not quite have the academic grades and/or English level to start the first year of an undergraduate degree at Aston University, but have a stronger profile than an UFP student. If students successfully complete the IY1 they are guaranteed progression* to Year 2 of a of undergraduate degrees at Aston University. This programme is set at NQF level 4, and is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree in the UK.

This programme includes a range of academic modules specific to the progression degree. English language will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if students need additional support to develop their English language.
