Entrance Scholarship
Overview
Seneca Polytechnic offers an Entrance Scholarship of up to $5,000 for international students starting full-time postsecondary programs in May 2026, September 2026, or January 2027. This scholarship supports international students studying in Canada by providing financial assistance based on the length of their program.
Eligibility Criteria
You are eligible for this scholarship if you:
- Are an international applicant applying to a full-time postsecondary program at Seneca, whether currently inside or outside Canada
- Are paying international tuition fees
- Are currently studying in Canada and interested in a second program or a bundled program at Seneca
- Are obtaining or in the process of obtaining your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Are currently enrolled in an eligible English pathway program in Canada
- Are currently studying at Seneca and applying for a new program
Scholarship Value and Payment Schedule
The scholarship amount depends on the program length:
- One-year program: $2,000 (awarded a few weeks after the 10th day of class)
- Two-year program: $3,000 ($2,000 upon program confirmation, $1,000 in the second year)
- Three-year program: $4,000 ($2,000 upon confirmation, $1,000 in years two and three)
- Four-year program: $5,000 ($2,000 upon confirmation, $1,000 in years two, three, and four)
Scholarship funds are deposited directly into your Student Home account after the 10th day of class once you provide your Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) or International Tax Number (ITN). Subsequent payments for multi-year programs are made after the 10th day of each relevant academic year.
Application Process
To receive the scholarship:
- Confirm your offer of admission to a full-time program at Seneca through the International Web Application.
- Pay the $90 CAD application fee (credited to your student account after Day 10 of the term upon confirmation and enrollment).
- Upload a valid study permit or Letter of Introduction if applying within Canada.
- Confirm your offer, pay a minimum $2,000 tuition deposit, and receive your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and Provincial Attestation Letter (if applicable).
- Pay all fees by the due date to secure your spot.
- Complete any remaining enrollment steps at Seneca.
Important Notes
- The scholarship is valid for all full-time postsecondary programs starting in May 2026, September 2026, or January 2027.
- If you enroll in a bundled program or a second program, you may receive the scholarship for each new program.
- The scholarship is non-refundable; any overpayment will be applied to future fees.
- Deferring admission to a future eligible term may still allow you to receive the $2,000 tuition credit.
- If you previously qualified for certain earlier Seneca scholarships, you will receive a scholarship of equal or greater value under this program.
- No cash alternative or substitution is available.
- Ensure you understand recent updates on Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility if you plan to apply.
