ApplyBoard Inc. and its affiliates, including but not limited to ApplyBoard India Private Limited; ApplyBoard India Services Private Limited (Collectively hereinafter referred to as “ApplyBoard”) is the controller of this personal data. The personal data you provide may be used for the purpose of assisting in applying for and obtaining a student loan using a financial institution which ApplyBoard has contracted with to assist students in facilitating financial assistance through referral (each being a “FI”).
The categories of personal data you are being asked to consent to ApplyBoard’s collection and use are name, email, contact phone number, country of study, loan amount required, and intake.
ApplyBoard will share the personal data with third parties who collect, store, and process this personal data, which includes service providers, affiliated entities, and business partners as set out in the table in our Privacy and Cookies Policy. These third parties may require the collection of additional Personal Information for purposes of assessing and providing a loan, and will collect separate consent for the personal information collected.
The personal data provided may be transferred out of ApplyBoard’s jurisdiction to ApplyBoard’s Parent Company (ApplyBoard Inc.), which is located in Canada and has operations in India. You consent to such transfer (and where you have collected from a student on their behalf have collected the student’s consent for you to share with us) and understand that the data will be subject to Canada and possibly India’s jurisdiction, depending on the servers we use to store such data, it may also be located in the United States, in which case US laws shall apply.
ApplyBoard will only retain the personal data while it is needed to fulfill the intended purpose for which it was collected or as otherwise permitted or required by law or contract (which may extend beyond the termination of our relationship with you).
Typically, personal data is maintained during the time a student is engaged in the institutional program and/or product applied for, or for up to a year following our last contact. We may retain certain data as necessary for:
- legitimate business purposes, such as auditing, account recovery.
- if required by applicable federal, state, provincial or other laws.
- to prevent fraud or future abuse, or
- by contract with a partner and/or institution.
Please note that you have the right to request access to, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of personal data. You also have the right to revoke this consent to use the personal data. If you reside in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, and you are not satisfied with how we attended to your rights and requests, you can lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority. These rights are more specifically described in the Privacy Notices posted on the ApplyBoard website at: https://www.applyboard.com/privacy-policy
By submitting any application to us or our third-party partners directly (as the case may be) you agree to the following important statements:
- i) the accuracy of the application;
ii) the completeness of the application;
iii) acceptance of the Terms and Conditions on our website (https://www.applyboard.com/terms-and-conditions) and these Terms of Service - iv) consent for the collection and processing of the personal information as per the Privacy Policy on our website (https://www.applyboard.com/privacy-policy); and
v) that certain information about application status, account information and proof of payment can be shared between the FI and ApplyBoard.
You also explicitly acknowledge the Application Package information, included but not limited to, personal information and status, can be shared with you via electronic messaging and as between the FI and ApplyBoard.
When you check the available checkbox, you will be also asked to explicitly agree to the two following important matters: i) agree to these Terms of Service; and ii) explicitly consent to ApplyBoard collecting and using the personal data for the purposes described here.
