We would like to take the opportunity to remind you of available scholarships offered at Western Michigan University (WMU).

 
THE DIETHER H. HAENICKE SCHOLARSHIP
The Diether H. Haenicke Scholarship is a merit-based, annual award for international students. The award amounts are determined by cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) on a four-point scale.

Scholarship Details
Paid in equal amounts fall and spring semesters.
  • Renewable up to eight semesters or until graduation requirements are met, whichever comes first. Students in the (Dual Enrollment) Pathway Program may be eligible to receive up to nine semesters.
  • Awarded automatically upon first-time admission to WMU (no additional application necessary).
  • Awards are allocated in the following amounts based on cumulative GPA (on a four-point scale):

 
No additional application necessary! All first-time freshman and transfer students are automatically considered upon application to Western Michigan University.

Criteria for selection
  • Undergraduate degree-seeking student entering WMU for the first time after secondary school or transfer from another university.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above on a 4.0 scale.
  • Application to the University must be received by the following deadlines: 
    Spring: August 1
    Summer: January 1
    Fall: April 1
 
Criteria for renewal
  • Maintain a cumulative WMU GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Continue to enroll at WMU as a full-time student (minimum 12 credits each semester). Students who are in their last semester of studies and taking less than 12 credits are eligible for renewal by providing proof of approved reduced course load (RCL).
  • Successfully complete a minimum of 24 credit hours each academic year.
  • Remain an international student.
  • Renewable up to eight semesters or until graduation requirements are met, whichever comes first. Students in the (Dual Enrollment) Pathway Program may be eligible to receive up to nine semesters.
